About NSS
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, launched in 1969 — the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi. Its primary aim is to involve youth in voluntary community service, thereby fostering their personality development and instilling a sense of social responsibility.
The guiding motto of NSS is "Not Me, But You", emphasizing the importance of selfless service, social responsibility, and community engagement.

Objectives of NSS
The main objectives of NSS are:
- To instill the spirit of social service and civic responsibility among students.
- To understand the community and work for its upliftment.
- To identify community needs and find practical solutions.
- To develop leadership qualities and democratic attitudes.
- To foster national integration and social harmony.
