Datta Meghe College of Engineering (DMCE), Airoli, Navi Mumbai, maintains an Anti-Ragging Committee as part of its statutory compliance with UGC regulations and Supreme Court directives against ragging in higher educational institutions. The college's student support infrastructure includes an Anti-Ragging Committee and Squad, alongside CCTV surveillance, security personnel, and a broader Grievance Redressal Cell. Alongside the Anti-Ragging Committee, the college also runs several other student-focused bodies such as the Women Development Cell, the NSS Unit, and various technical clubs, reflecting its broader emphasis on student welfare and campus discipline.
The committee functions to ensure a safe and harassment-free environment for junior students, in keeping with the zero-tolerance approach mandated across Indian higher education institutions. DMCE also maintains a dedicated Women Helpline contact for students who need to report concerns confidentially. As a NAAC-accredited institution affiliated with the University of Mumbai and approved by AICTE and DTE Maharashtra, DMCE aligns its anti-ragging framework with statutory requirements—including registration on the UGC's anti-ragging portal, display of helpline information on campus, and coordination between faculty, administration, and student representatives to promptly address and act on any ragging-related complaints.
