Computer Engineering
The Computer Engineering department was established in 1992 with an intake of 60 for the undergraduate course, and further it was increased to 90 and 120 in the years 2000 and 2001, respectively. The master's in computer engineering was introduced in 2010 with an intake of 18, and in 2013 the Ph.D. course was established with an intake of 15 under the University of Mumbai.
In the view of quality education, the department facilitates well-equipped laboratories and highly prominent and dedicated faculties having expertise in desperate fields of technology. To make the students stand out in the recent trends and technology, the department conducts various Skill Development Programs for the students under the association CATT (Computer Association for Technological Trends) formed by the students. To bridge the industry requirement, the CSI-DMCE student chapter, which was inaugurated in 2012, conducts various workshops, seminars, and technical competitions.
Faculty members of the department are actively involved in research and have published more than 490 papers in renowned international journals and conferences in India and abroad. For their continuous growth and development in the field of technology, faculty actively participates in various FDPs, STTPs, workshops, and seminars.
The department has a history of producing meritorious students every year, and they are also awarded scholarships from prestigious trusts. The department has achieved excellent placement records from reputed companies like TCS, Capgemini, and LTI, etc. Students are involved in pursuing higher education in India and abroad. Many faculty members are pursuing Ph.D. programs and are highly active in research activities. A large number of technical and research papers authored by the faculty members, research scholars, and PG students are published in the peer-reviewed and reputable journals of national and international levels indexed in prominent databases such as Web of Science (SCI/SCIE/ESCI), SCOPUS, and Google Scholar. Besides, they also actively participate in the conferences at national and international levels.
Experts from various industries, along with alumni, have been invited for interactive discussions with students and have delivered the expert talks through different programs. In all, the department leads on all fronts for overall growth for both students and faculty.
